DARE 2 PROGRAMME for Saturday 12th July

 

A variety of workshop projects started on Saturday will be completed on Sunday and will be displayed or performed on Sunday.

 

 

ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHOPS

Mountain Boarding              11am to 6pm

Toby from Maxtrack will lead the mountain board team and teach the skills necessary to master the board, and if you ask him nicely he might show you an exciting trick or two.

Circus Skills                                11am to 6pm

Panic Circus will guide you through all those extraordinary and impossible circus antics and you will be surprised at what you can do under their tutelage – walk the trapeze, ride a unicycle, walk on stilts…. See tjhe circus show offs on Sunday.

Yoga                                                   1pm to 2pm, 4pm to 5pm

Caroline Wilkinson will be teaching Hatha yoga, suitable for all ages and abilities, in a Moroccan tent to please the visual senses as well.

Tae Kwondo                                12pm to 1pm, 3pm to 4pm, 5pm to 6pm

Stephen Lamberth, 4th Dan black belt in Tae Kwondo, will teach you the rudiments of this martial art in a simple and relaxed way.

Dance                                               1pm to 2pm (Street/Hiphop), 5pm to 6pm (Latin American)

Melanie Keen from Keen Dance will teach all the latest moves on the street and then some more classic Latin American ones in preparation for the big performance with Latin American band Atlantico on Sunday afternoon.

Willow Maze                               11am to 6pm

Tom Weld will create a unique and fascinating structure which will snake across the side of the hill and endeavour to lose you in its painted folds. For those keen to learn more, Tom and his team will instruct you in the art of willow maze making.

Football                                           12pm to 6pm

Neil and Matt our football pros will teach the skills and dare 2 referee matches throughout both days leading up to the Dare 2 Cup Final on Sunday.

Opentone Music                      2pm to 3pm, 5pm to 6pm

Ian McGinn will astound you with your own musical skills even if you think you don’t have any. Ian will assemble sounds recorded on Saturday and create a very special ‘mix’ to be aired on Sunday. Ian can be found in his Open Dome tent which will be lit on Saturday night with images of the festival projected on to the domed roof for all to see.

DJ Workshop                              12pm to 12.45pm, 1pm to 1.45pm, 2pm to 2.45pm,

                                3pm to 3.45pm, 4pm to 4.45pm, 5pm to 5.45pm 

Simon Green of Eventful will be joined by Geoff McQueen and dialog/av for some cutting edge mixing and burning, and don’t miss dialog/av’s hitherto unseen ‘sunshine’ performance.                                                                    

Open Mic                                       1pm to 2am (15min slots during the main stage band

                               changeovers)

Run by professional open mic organisers Pete Leonard and Matt Britton. Book in with them for your performance on the day.

African Drumming                 11am to 6pm

Conjure up the rhythm of Africa with Chai Chapels Djembe drum workshops.

Art and Craft                               11am to 6pm

Put Ed Hardy out of business and design and decorate your own T-shirt ready for the parade and competition on Sunday. Also decorate bags and make a fine heraldic banner to put up outside your tent.

Pancakes                                      11am to 12pm, 3pm to 5pm

Wrapsody Crepes, when not feeding the masses with their delicious pancakes, are delighted to show off their skills to those who would like to make their own pancakes.

Cake Decorating                    11am to 6pm

With Vanilla Pod’s dancing fairies.

Clay Making                                11am to 6pm

Get your hands muddied with clay and create a panoply of figures and shapes with Daemon and Doppelganger.

Storytelling                                 2pm to 3pm

Vividly enacted by Sebastian Hayes.

Disco – Children                     6pm to 9pm

For those who have practiced their skill earlier in the day with him, Simon Green of Eventful will give the children a chance to go live and for those who haven’t honed their DJ skills just get up and dance.

Disco – Adults                           9pm to 2am

Simon Green from Eventful will light up the Circus tent and turn it into the hottest experience – forget Boujis, this is where it is happening.

Jo will display her wire animal sculptures which will bound across the hillside like living beasts.

Creature Mag Arts                throughout the weekend

Bringing their vision of free art for everyone at the beginning of their 2008 festival tour. Catch all their arty eccentricities over the festival site where you least expect it. 

Stone Balancing                     throughout the weekend

Adrian Gray, a true performance artist/sculptor, will cause some incredulity when he demonstrates his unique skill of gravity-defying stone balancing sculpture.
